The Modern Method of Birth Control by Thurston Scott Welton, M.D., F.A.C.S., copyright 1938 and printed circa 1943, is a fascinating piece of mid-20th century medical and social history — a menstrual guide reflecting the state of reproductive health information and family planning knowledge available to American readers during this era. The book includes an original plastic calendar-wheel accessory designed to help calculate menstrual cycles, a genuinely interesting physical artifact of period medical technology.
Bound in red hardcover, this is a significant piece for collectors interested in medical history, women's health history, or mid-century Americana with genuine historical substance.
