Hull's Plaidware line is one of those things that serious Hull collectors know about and rarely find — a limited production run that surfaces only occasionally, usually at estate sales or, in this case, at a thrift store in the Southwest during a road trip. This is a genuine wild find: the number 63 Range Jar, 5.5 inches tall, in the yellow glaze base with red plaid accents colorway that makes Plaidware immediately recognizable and endlessly charming.
The palette is pure mid-century Americana — bold, cheerful, and completely of its era. The plaid pattern in red against the warm yellow base is the kind of design that made American kitchenware from this period so beloved. At 5.5 inches this range jar has real presence on a shelf or countertop.
Condition is great vintage — crazing is present throughout the exterior and interior, which is characteristic and expected in vintage American ceramics of this age and entirely consistent with great vintage condition for this type of piece.
